Fail to install FMC 7.2 virtual with ESXi

Hi all !

I have been trying to install without success FMC virtual versión 7.2 , after finishing the deploy with OVF and vmdk files I tried to power on the VM but all the times the following error is displayed.

PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
Operating System not found

I have tried with ESXi version: 6.5.0 and ESXi version:6.7.0 but same result. In the past I could install FMC 6.X without problem.

any suggestion for this issue?

 -  Apparently what can happen is that the VM is configured to boot over the network instead of local disk storage.
Checkout a similar case in https://portal.perforce.com/s/article/Operating-System-Not-Found-in-VMware-Console-After-Delphix-Engine-Upgrade-or-Reboot-KBA8347-1728061739292
and how it is resolved (check if these guidelines could be applicable to your case)
Also make sure to download the correct VM instance (and verify the md5sum after download , perhaps best to do that
first before going to the complicated stuff!)

Hi marce1000,

md5 checksum after download the file is correct, after checking  the link you shared me VM options for FMC VM are also correct, and the boot option are also correct.

In the same host I have others VM ( WLC controller 9800 and Windows Server 2019) and did not have problems  with them.

I appreciate your time for checking my case

regards

  - Not sure why this is happening , you could try to remove the network adapter from the VM in ESXi (temporarily) and try again ,

One of our systems guys mentioned that if you're attempting to install it from a network drive this can cause the problem your having. It should be installed from a local drive to the ESXi server.
