Firepower 1100 Series Manager

Hello everyone,

we recently purchased a Cisco Firepower 1150. This is my first time installing a Firepower 1150 and plan to use FTD instead of ASA. Previously, I had only installed a Cisco ASA.

So my question is, as far as I know, FTD must be managed by FMC and ASA by ASDM. Is there another way to manage FTD without using FMC? I discovered that one of the solutions called "Device Manager" is it must be installed separately, similar to FMC using VM? and another solution known as CDO, which we do not want because it is cloud-based.

Thanks

@Azlan.my07 you don't need an FMC or CDO to manage the FTD, you can use Firepower Device Manager (FDM) to manage the device locally. To manage the device you just open a web browser and connect to the FTD IP address.

Just ensure when you set up the firewall for the first time it will ask you to manage device locally select yes.
