Firepower Threat Defence on ASA (HA Features)

Hi,

We're soon going to be deploying a pair of ASA5525-x's in our data centre. I had planned for them to be clustered, and run multiple contexts. These contexts would be a combination of routed and transparent modes. I also had intended to run FirePower Services.

I have recently learned that FTD is a unified version of ASA code and FirePower code. Something I'm not sure about yet is whether FTD will allow clustering, multi-contexts, and routed/transparent modes.

Can anyone comment on whether these features are supported, and if not, if they are on the roadmap?

Clustering - not yet on the 5500-X series. Should be soon though.

Multiple context - no. Targeted for a future release but no committed date.

Routed and transparent - yes.

I spoke to a Cisco account manager about this, and they said that the road map for these features is v6.3

This is tentatively scheduled for around March/April 2017.
