Firewall disconnects in ASDM

ittechsgn0001

I have been experiencing a problem  with out ASA 5505 firewall. When I go into the ASDM interface once it loads it is registering that the firewall has lost connection.

We still have functionality of our network and network resources as well as external internet access, basically nothing seems to be effected by the disconnect. But I am concerned that this is leaving me vulnerable. I am very new to using the ASA appliance having not dealt much with Cisco since 2001/ 2002. What should I be looking for to fix/ resolve I am including our configuration and a screenshot of error.

Hi,

What is the Java Version on your PC ?

I would recommend upgrading the ASDM code to the latest version with the Java also to the latest version.

Thanks and Regards,

Vibhor Amrodia

This is current versions.

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.4(4)
Device Manager Version 6.4(9)
Java Version 1.8_45

When I tried to do an update through ASDM, I received another error "failed to connect" not too sure what is causing this. I am concerned that if I do a backup of the configuration that I will just have the same problem all over again. We do have a second appliance currently not in use, again though I worry if backing up to the secondary the problem would be persistent.

Hi,

This error is only to connect to the ASDM.

I think you can change the image by connection to the ASA device CLI and make the required changes and see if that resolves the issue.
