FTD 2120 chassis and asa management IP

Hello,

I would like to ask about the management addresses of Firepower 2120

It has one IP for the chassis management and one IP for the ASA management. By default they are in the same subnet.

Is it necessary to be in the same subnet?

How do I change the chassis management IP?

Thanks and regards,

Konstantinos

As long as routing from the management IP to the network you are managing the device from is in place, there really is no need for the IPs to be on the same subnet.

To change the IP of FXOS refer to the following guide:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/fxos/config/asa-2100-fxos-config/cli.html#id_54695

Technically not necessary should be same, as long you have mapped VLAN correctly with the interfaces attached to devices.
