FTD 7.0 w/ FlexConfig upgrade to 7.4

I am planning to upgrade FTD 7.0 w/ FlexConfig on:

  • ECMP Zone (1 outside interface and 2 inside interfaces)
  • EIGRP configuration

towards FTD 7.4

I understand that the FlexConfig on ECMP zone and EIGRP are not supported but must use GUI to config / re-configure them. However, I am not very clear what the best sequence shall be, also, if I just upgrade to 7.4 with the existing policy w/ FlexConfig what will happen ( I thought the ECMP and EIGRP config will stay but I will receive some alerts)

We upgraded our FMC few times down the line and now I am unable to clone / modify the current FlexConfig policy anymore, as it will complaint invalid commands "ecmp zone xxx" and "router eigrp xxx"

Can someone with the similar experience shed some lights here? Thanks.

Leo

1- no need flexconfig for eigrp

I am aware of I must configure EIGRP "natively" at GUI once upgrade to 7.4. As it's our production environment instead of a green field deployment. Still like know, for me running FTD 7.0 w/ ECMP and EIGRP configuration within FlexConfig,

1) What will the FTD running configuration look like after I upgrade to 7.4?

2) Will the ECMP and EIGRP config remains?

That will help me estimate the downtime and plan the maintenance activity accordingly. Thanks.

You can use ftd to show run | sec eigrp

Before and after upgrading and check which command missing.

Note:- I think you use eigrp command also under interface? If yes then use

Show run | include eigrp

Show run | sec eigrp
