We were about to upgrade our FWSM from 2.3 to the latest version 4.1. From the link, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/fwsm/fwsm11/configuration/guide/admin.html, I have learned that there are about 5 partitions available at FWSM, where 2 partitions are called Application partition (cf:4 & cf:5). And these Application partition could have two different image releases stored in each. Default Application partition is cf:4.
So we proposing we could install the new image on cf:5, where we were thinking it shoutld be free of memory space as we were using the default Application partition cf:4
However, though the link also mentions that the command "show boot system" on the switch will show the partition of each module currently running, in our FWSM we couldn't find anything listed. Please help me understand this.
