Help to NAT Cisco ASA 5505 and get on the internet

Hi!

I have a Cisco Asa 5505 and have setup everything except NAT. I have tried to use my ASA as router instead of ISP router at my home. I have created a DHCP pool that hands out IP but I do not get internet connectivity. I am not sure how to route and NAT so internet works. In my config, the IP 1.1.1.1 is my public IP and I have set port 1 as my outside interface with DHCP. What do I miss in my config? I can ping my 1.1.1.1 outside interface from ASA but not from my local PC. I can ping my 192.168.10.254 ASA inside interface from PC.

Hi,

Is 1.1.1.1 the IP address assigned to the outside interface or the next-hop router's IP address? If it's the ASA's outside interface IP address then your current static route is incorrect.

You can set the ASA to receive the default route via DHCP:-

interface Vlan2
ip address dhcp setroute

You'll need NAT configured, example:-

nat (inside, outside) after-auto source dynamic any interface

HTH

1.1.1.1 is the assigned IP to the outside interface and got that IP from DHCP from the ISP. I will try that, thanks! :)
