how to measure and check the IOS firewall and ASA performance.

we are having 2 routers, which are not in used anymore. And I want to change the IOS to make them as firewalls. from the cisco, i know the only difference is performance difference.

I know ASA5510 performance is 300MBPS. AND Cisco 2811 is :130 Mbps. how to measure this figures? In our real network setup, there will only 1 2M Internet connection (outside) and 1 LAN connection (DMZ) and 1 inside LAN connection. Can I say the maximum throughput is 2M for IOS firewall if there is no traffic between DMZ and inside LAN?

You could generate large amount of data and then use any SNMP Viewer (BMC Dahsboard, Solarwinds, Nagios, CiscoWorks etc.) to see the throughput of the interfaces at peak. But why bother? Cisco has been commented by numerous research firms (Gartner etc.) to be very precise about their stated throughputs.
