Hello Everyone.

I just got IPS module replaced (waranty) on asa 5520 i wasnt able to do notyhbng with it unless i changed my time on a laptop and put it to 05/2003

then i was able to update os and acces it thru ASDM/IDM.The command "set clock" is missing and i cant change the time on the module.

But now i can access IPS with proper time on my laptop.

Question1: How can i change the time ?

Question2: Will the IPS operates properly if i leave the time set to 05/2003 ?

Question3:why i cant ping from IPS ?

IPS SSM10

os 7.1(7)e4

Hello Arsen,

The comamnd is clock set,

Please read the following document for the understanding of how the IPS clock works.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/7.0/configuration/guide/cli/cli_setup.html#wp1096156

Make sure  you allow the IP address you are trying to ping from on the sensor IPS.

thanks for reply, but acctually there is no commnand clock set or set clock

even From IME its greyed out

Did you check the link? Try it from CLI.

note: in order to use IME is a requirement to have the same time on both the IPS and the computer where the IME application is installed.

To resolve this i had to manually enter NTP Server IP and it autoamatically updated the time on the Sensor
