Migration from FMCv10 to FMC 1600

Hello to all,

I am migrating from virtual FMC to FMC 1600 and sf-migration.pl script is taking way too long.

My backup from virtual FMC is nearly 46GB. I copied the file to the FMC 1600 and executed the script. After nearly 24 hours has not finished yet. No error no output nothing. I can see the hdds having activities and with the top command that the script is running but nothing else.

Do you know how long should it take?

Also does anyone knows if it generates any kind of log? I have searched linux and did not find any log for this job.

I've used the migration script once - for a 4500 to 4600. In my backup I did not include events. The backup file was just over 1 GB and I recall it took under an hour to run to completion.

If you are set on including events, then I would check with TAC on why it is taking so long. Otherwise I would try it again without events.

Quick update

After 3 days, yes THREE days script gave an error and migration stopped.

I realized that 50 Gb is way too big for the script to handle and used a fresh backup without events and after an hour migration was complete!

Wow - 3 days to decide it would error out. It seems like "without events" is the way to go.

Thanks for the update.

No reboot or service restart is required on either the ACS or ISE end.
