Can you upload/restore a backup config of an old FTD that was saved via FMC to a new FTD via FDM/locally? Not sure if they are unique device specific?
Basically want to restore configs of an old/bad FTD (to configure exactly the same) locally and/or via FDM on a new FTD then simply swap out the bad FTD (plug and play).

@CiscoBrownBelt if the FTD was managed by FMC previously you'd have to restore via FMC, you would not be able to restore locally via FDM.

@CiscoBrownBelt FTD backup and restore is intended for RMA. Restoring configurations overwrites all configurations on the device, including the management IP address. It also reboots the device.

Oh ok thanks.
There a way to not cause a conflict with mgmt IP if were to connect new FTD to network (with different IP) as well via mgmt port > upload config file of existing FTD to that as the file would configure the mgmt IP during process right? I basically trying to see if there is a way to plug and play.
