Hi all
Keeping in mind the below mentioned throughput figures mentioned in the pix datasheets,
PIX525 - Cleartext throughput: Up to 330 Mbps
PIX535 - Cleartext throughput: Up to 1.7 Gbps
I would like to know what will be the performance difference if my requirement
is to just do firewalling between 5 vlans using a Single GE dot1Q trunk interface
on a PIX 525 & PIX 535 box ??
And Can anybody tell me based on what these throughput figures are measured ??
TIA

Let me put it this way ...
What is the throughput difference between a PIX 525 with 2 GE interfaces and
a PIX535 with 2 GE interfaces ??

You already answered your own question:
PIX525 - Cleartext throughput: Up to 330 Mbps
PIX535 - Cleartext throughput: Up to 1.7 Gbps
The PIX 525 does not support GE linerate as it only has 33MHz slots. The PIX 535 does support true GE line rate connections.
