PIX 520 - Intermittent ping

Let me paint the scenario...

I have a PIX 520 4.4(4) 128MB, unlimited connections with 3 interfaces (inside, outside and DMZ)

I use NAT, STATIC and CONDUIT.

My external interface is connected to a (Fujitsu)Verizon DSL modem.

All is working fine, except, the live IP which is mapped(using a STATIC) to my mail server's outside NIC which is connected to the DMZ intermittently fails. You can't ping it, although I can ping the internal IP of the NIC....

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated,

I have had problems with a server and it seems it was actually a NIC problem. We took one of the NIC's out and it worked fine. Perhaps that is a problem. Why do you have two NIC's in that box? If you have a static command, then the firewall will route the traffic correctly.
