pix 525 to asa 5520

I'm looking to migrate from the pix 525 to asa 5520. PIX version is 8.0(4) and ASA 5520 version is 8.2(5). Do I need to upgrade the PIX prior to migration? Also looking on detailed steps on the migration process itself. Thanks.
