Query over licensing Firepower Management Center

Hi

We have purchased a number of ASA 5506X firewalls with the security plus license bundle,

Since the purchase I have determined that running the Firepower Threat Defense firmware is going to be a much better fit for us, so I wish to license a virtual FMC to manage our devices.

I understand that if we want to use IPS, Malware etc then we need to purchase additional subscriptions, but for just basic management with FMC can anyone explain which licenses I should purchase? The ASAs have come with a Control license which allows them to be managed in FMC, but what license should I purchase for the FMC itself? I find the explanation on the Cisco website very unclear on this.

From v6.0 of the FMC, there is no separate license needed for the FMC. All you would need to do is purchase the right FMCv model using the right Smart licensing enabled SKU. You can use the SF-FMC-VMW-K9, SF-FMC-VMW-10-K9 and SF-FMC-VMW-2-K9 SKU's to purchase the 25, 10 and 2 device management capable FMC.
