Recommended Code for ASA,ACE, and FWSM

Hi,

We are in the process of building a new DC and would like to know which is the recommended version of code to run on the following:

Firewall Services Module

Cisco ASA5580, 5550, 5520

ACE module

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Matt,

As you are building a new DC, it will be good to run on the latest availble codes. For ASA 5500 series, you can consider to upgrade ASA 8.2.4.4 or ASA 8.4.1.

Please note for ASA 8.3 or higher, there is change in min. requirements and configuration style. Refer to release notes prior to upgrade.

For the ACE and FWSM modules I suggest that you have a look at the Cisco Safe Harbour recommendations. It also recommends an IOS version for the 6500.

I was thinking of going with ASA 8.3.2 rather than 8.4.1 as this is very new?

The safe harbour stuff looks a good way to go too, so thanks for that Sean.
