I have an unused 5525-X , what is the best version to use? The download page seems to recommend either 9.1.6 or 9.2.3. Is there a reason to not go with the latest, 9.4.1?
Thanks.

Hey jsoudah,
The reason not to go with 9.4(1) would be the 27 open bugs, while 9.1(6) only has 10 open bugs.
However I would read over the open bugs so you will know what problems you may encounter.
But based on the open bugs alone, I would go with one of the Cisco recommended software versions.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
I would recommend check the Version's Release Notes as every version will have some new Features in them which might be required for you or not. That would influence your choice.
For ex:- PBR on ASA started from 9.4.1 so that you would miss if you select any other code at the same time 9.2.x etc would also be as updated as the 9.4.1.
So , I would recommend going thru the Release notes in detail before selecting the code.
Thanks and Regards,
