If we have an ASA with an exsiting default gateway (on a point to point connection with no Internet access) and we want to add an actual Internet connection for remote monitoring and management what we would need to do to make the ASA reachable via SSH as far as default routes go. I know we would have to assign the IP address to the interface of teh ASA that it is plugging into but how do we handle teh fact that there is already a default route on the ASA that sends all traffic across the point to point connection?
The default route is also called "gateway of last resort". So, when you add a static route it takes precedence over your default route.
