Set up URL filtering and Intrusion Prevension on Cisco 881-K9 router

Hi Seniors,

I have one cisco 881-K9 router and IOS version loaded there is 15.0.

I set up the IPSec VPN on that router and configure the firewall by using CCP guru.

My boss ask me whether can set up URL filtering and Intrusion Prevention on that router.

I am not very sure and so I need some advise from you people out there.

Please kindly advise me what I can do and can't do with that router.

And please educate me what additional things (license, additional device, third party appliance, ...) I have to have to set up these 2 features, URL filtering and Intrusion Prevention.

Hi,

You would be able to configure URL filtering on the router, provided you have configured firewall on the router. I am guessing that you have the Zone based firewall on the router. Here is a link that will give you an overview of the different types of URL filtering(Local or using
