Should I upgrade 8.2.2 on the ASA5520?

Hello,

We have 2 x ASA5520 and I upgraded this to 8.2.2 last year, I see 8.2.5 and now 8.4 is out.  If we are having no issues, is it best just to leave it as it is?  I can see a couple of features I may find useful in 8.2.5, but 8.4 seems like a huge jump and a risky one too.

Hi Andy,

You are correct with your analysis, if you are not afcing any issue with the current code then you migth wanna stick to it, but if there are some new features in 8.2.5 which you think might be useful to you then you can definitely go for it. But if you are upgarding to verions 8.3 or above, then there are some major nat and acl changes, so before upgrading you shoudl go through them and the release notes for the version, always a best practice.
