Simple PIX 501 Question

Hey guys,

Will the integrated switch on a PIX 501 freely route traffic between devices plugged into it, so long as they are on the same subnet? I am presuming that the answer is yes. If so, is there any way to isolate one device's network traffic from the others using the PIX only? I can’t think of a way, but I’m not a PIX guru, so I thought I’d ask. Thanks very much for any information that you may be able to provide.

Do you mean Private VLAN ?

If yes, then " NO ", that is not possible.

There are no options at all to do stuff as Private VLANs on a PIX 501.

Connect a Switch that suports that suppoorts that kind of features and connect just one port on the Switch to the pix.

sincerely

Patrick

That's essentially what I meant. Thanks, I was just hoping to avoid any unnecessary hardware purchases.
