I have experienced in the past where 5505s seem to have shut down the management portion, that while the firewall was active for connections inbound and outbound I could not connect via SNMP, SSH, or HTTPs to the firewall itself. Reload of the firewall would resolve the issue temporarily. Although this happened to just a few devices, I do wish to be cautious with our primary ASA.
I have a script that checks the OIDs to retrieve current tunnels. Right now I was going to set this at 30 second intervals, but thought come here first to see what others have experienced. If I do run into a situation where the ASA locks this up, this particular firewall I am not able to just reload at will. So I would love to hear what polling rate other people are querying their ASA's
