Strange behavior since FTD upgrade to 6.6.1

Hello everyone,

we managed two FTD 2130 in a cluster with fmc. first we updated our fmc to 6.6.1. then we updated our cluster to 6.6.1, but the upgrade on our standby ftd failed, so one member is on version 6.6.0.1 (active ftd) and the other is on 6.6.1 (standby ftd). the fmc said the update failed but also they show up the new versionnumber. after that, standby ftd was no longer accessible from fmc. we decided to break up the cluster and remove the standby firewall (the ftd with the failed upgrade) from our fmc. we removed the manager on the clish and tried adding it again. after 2 hours the fmc said "Discovery failed due to internal error. If problem persists, contact Cisco TAC".

Then we tried to reimage the FTD but were unable to access the LINA cli. This is what it shows up after we tried simple commands (we have also tried rebooting the appliance many times):

> dir
ERROR: System initialization has not completed.>
> help
ERROR: System initialization has not completed.>
> system support diagnostic-cli
Attaching to Diagnostic CLI ... Press 'Ctrl+a then d' to detach.
Type help or '?' for a list of available commands.

any ideas? thank you!

greetings

Sebastian

with tac support, we did a complete reimage of our firepower cluster. there was no other way to fix this issue. for more infos see: Cisco FXOS Troubleshooting Guide for the Firepower 1000/2100 with Firepower Threat Defense - Reimage Procedures [Cisco Firepower 2100 Series] - Cisco

I'd go straight to TAC with that one. They will probably end up having you reimage but they should collect the diagnostics for bug tracking

thanks for your answer. i opened up a tac case and will show up what they've done.
