Hi!
I've a routing switch on my network. Can I use a Ethernet bridge MODEM with UTP interface to terminate the E1 link on PIX fast ethernet port directly instead of using a router in between? If not why? If yes, is there any problem in running the network?

What exactly is this Ethernet bridge modem? If its designed as a gateway device and gets an IP address on its Ethernet interface and the PIX can use that as a gateway, I cant see why not.

HI J-Block!
The MODEM is not designed as a gateway. It just gives me Ethernet port instead of a V.35 interface. Pls tell me is it still possible to use that???

I dont think it will work. The PIX needs an address to send its traffic to. You could check with the company that makes it and see if they have an idea for you.
