Greetings
Currently, we are using a 506E PIX and are wanting to get DSL through a local ISP. To get all the IPs we want, we are going to have to go with 2 DSL lines. Course, the 506e doesn't have 3 ethernet ports for 2 to come in and 1 to go out. So, we are looking at upgrading to the 515e and get an additional ethernet port put in to give us the 3 ports we need. I wanted to ask if this will work with load balancing and everything. The company we go through to purchase Cisco products said this wouldn't work.
Thanks
Dale

Hi Dale,
this is not possible for the PIX with PIX OS 6.3.x.
This might be possible with an external Router that is doing the routing on both ADSL connection. I have seen many posts that suggested two external router with HSRP and then a PIX Firewall behind. But you would need to buy 2 routers !!!
There ia also the new PIX OS 7.0 release that will be released in April that support Active Active Failover and Loadbalancing but I have not seen if it will be possible to Loadbalance ISP links.
Another way could be if the ISPs supports a routing protocol as BGP.
sincerely
Patrick

How about a 2600 in front of the PIX? We have one that was actually given to us recently and it looks in superb shape.
