if you looking Active / Standby setup

both need to same version, if not you will see some unknown issues around.

So take quick action and move other ASA like same as Active. (for better and stability)

to remove this kind of situation remove any unwanter Code from the device so you will not see any surprises in the future.

what you can do is log in to active asa issue a command.

example

show bootvar

BOOT variable = disk0:/asa9.5-15-smp-k8.bin
Current BOOT variable = disk0:/asa9.5-15-smp-k8.bin
CONFIG_FILE variable =
Current CONFIG_FILE variable =

now in order to yout to change them so both images can match the same version. go to cli and issues these commands

write standby

other method.

you log into stanby firewall and issue this command

show bootvar

BOOT variable = disk0:/asa984-15-smp-k8.bin
Current BOOT variable = disk0:/asa984-15-smp-k8.bin

change this to 9.5

boot config flash:/asa9.5

boot var flash:/asa9.5

no boot config flash://asa9.8

no boot var flash:/asa9.8

once make the change double check the new OS is 9.5

show bootvar

and write me it

BOOT variable = disk0:/asa9.5-15-smp-k8.bin Current BOOT variable = disk0:/asa9.5-15-smp-k8.bin
