I have some users that have to create a ppoe connection before they can log onto the Internet and then in turn the VPN. For these users throughput seems unreasonably slow (30-40kbps). My other users are 128+ on a bad day. This is on a 3005 with 3.5 software client. Everything is the same for my other users except for the ppoe. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this and how to remedy it?

Often times complex troubleshooting issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, its often difficult to do so for this type of issue.

In some cases the MTU for both the Ethernet adapter and the PPPoE adapter must be configured. Try setting the MTU on the Ethernet adapter to 1400 using the SetMTU utility included with the VPN client. The MTU for the PPPoE connector can usually set be set from the adapter's properties, but in some cases a registry tweak is needed. Set it's MTU to 572.
