Have you double-checked that the pre-shared key on the client software matches what's configured in the ASA?

That would be under the client connection entry - the password value is entered under the "group authentication" section when you modify the connection entry.

Hello Marvin,

Yes I have checked that on both.

I have changed the previous configuration to the one below and the vpn now connects but it does not allow me to connect to any local networks. The vpn client has nothing listed under local Lan and also says local Lan disabled.

I am also attaching a client perspective.

Please see attachment

You need to specify an access-list that tells the client to route only those networks via VPN and leave the local networks as they are prior to connection.

Under the group-policy that you are using, try adding a " vpn-filter value <access-list name>".

I must be totally missing something. I receive a connection by the lock located on the bottom right hand corner. I do an ipconfig and I receive an ip from the local pool specified (10.31.1.11) .

So the tunnel has been established and is working, but I am still not able to connect to anything on the local network.

I broke down my configs further to see if there is anything I am missing and I am at a loss.

So I note in your latest output that your ASA sees decaps - that means the traffic from the client is being decapsulated and sent out of the VPN tunnel into the local network.

However, encaps are zero. The most common cause of this is that the internal network does not know (dues to routing) to send the return traffic (for your 10.31.1.0/24 in your case) to the ASA. So confirm the route exists for that (or a default route to the ASA inside interface).

Also, you posted above an access-list NONAT but don't have any output showing it has been used anywhere.

Both the routing and NAT exemption needs to be in place for return traffic to be properly sent to the remote access VPN client.
