Hello, I just bought a cisco 860 series router to configure my network. to connect to this router using putty, I entered in username cisco and password cisco. The problem is that after logging out when I re-enter the same credentials I get the message that my username and password are invalid. How do I reconnect to my router again please?
Thank you

I agree that it is a reasonable suggestion to power cycle the router and try again. Perhaps that will work. If that does not work then you probably will need to perform the password recovery procedure for that router. Some new routers come with a one time password and expect you to configure a new user ID with a new password for continued access to the router. I am not sure that this is the case here but it sounds like it might be. In any case when you do get access to the router you should configure a new user ID and password.
