The alarm light on the Wan Interface Card (WIC) is lit. This indicates a network issue. These are the alarm codes:
Red alarm - loss of network signal
Blue Alarm - loss of network frame
Yellow Alarm - receive from network
The alarm LED usually indicates a problem with the line.
The status of the WIC can be seen in the output of the show service-module [serial 0|1] command:
R13#show service-module s1/0 Module type is T1/fractional Hardware revision is 0.104, Software revision is 1.07, Image checksum is 0x8510A6B6, Protocol revision is 0.1 Transmitter is sending remote alarm. Receiver has loss of signal, loss of frame, Framing is ESF, Line Code is B8ZS, Current clock source is line, Fraction has 24 timeslots (64 Kbits/sec each), Net bandwidth is 1536 Kbits/sec. The WIC can be tested by issuing the test service-module command, as shown in the following example:
R13#test service-module s1/0 SERVICE_MODULE(Serial1/0): Performing service-module self test R13# 5d01h: SERVICE_MODULE(Serial1/0): self test finished: Passed
