The enterprise and campus footprints are just getting bigger with things like cameras, sensors and other IoT devices all connected to the internet, but also are our networks. Employees and customers are connecting to our networks from all different places using three or four different kinds of devices. Not only do networking people need to figure out how to allow all of this, but more importantly, they need to make sure it’s secure.
Traditionally, this would have taken a lot of time to configure due to manually configuring multiple polices for the same person depending on where they were connecting from and what device they were connecting with. However, SD-Access allows network admins to configure intent driven networking through Cisco DNA Center. Now discovering devices, creating policies, and pushing the configurations can all be done through the centralized GUI.
