Campus Manager in LMS 3.1 tries to force the user to install an outdated Java Plug-in ver 1.5.0_13. How does one disable this forced check? If an end user can't try it with a recent version of Java, this component is useless anyway.

Hi David,

Thank you for your comments and visiting Cisco Support Community. The supported Java Plug-in version for Campus Manager 5.1 in LMS 3.1 is 1.6.0_05.

You can see the supported requirements for LMS3.1 from the install guide at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.1/install/guide/prereq.html#wp1103528

It should not install Java Plug-in 1.5.0_13 version as you said it is a older version. If you are the LMS customer and face this issue still,  you can raise a TAC case at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_most_requested_tools.html

I did open a TAC case. Cisco only supports one specific version of Java for Topology Services. Any other version installed will redirect you to the Java Plug-in download page. This is very unfortunate, as soon as a vulnerability is announced and patched, you will be unable to use this feature.  You can't launch the app unless you have the exact version of Java they expect.
