It was noted that there existed two standard for 1Gbps UTP interface, 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX.

Seemingly, they are incompatible standard, i.e. 1000Base-T could not connect to 1000Base-TX.

In recent search, it was found that the only C6K's UTP module, which support 720 backplane, is claimed as 10/100/1000Base-TX in Cisco website.

I wonder if the module would only support 1000Base-TX only, because most network equipment nowadays supports 1000Base-T, including most Cisco LAN switches.

If so, does it mean the UTP module is not intended to connect with most Cisco LAN switch via UTP directly?

Would any experts could throw me some light on it? Thanks in advance.
