Core issue
Cisco Catalyst 65xx series switches can reset with the %PM_SCP-SP-1-LCP_FW_ERR, %OIR-SP-3-PWRCYCLE and %C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED error messages. This problem affects Cisco IOS Software Releases 12.2(17d)SXB9 and 12.2(17d)SXB10.
These are the descriptions of the error messages:
- PM_SCP-SP-1-LCP_FW_ERR: System resetting module [dec] to recover from error
This message appears when the firmware of the specified module detects an error. The system automatically resets the module to recover from the error.
- OIR-SP-3-PWRCYCLE: Card in module [dec], is being power-cycled off
This message indicates that the module experiences a port Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) error.
- %C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot [dec] set off
This message indicates that the module experiences a Port ASIC error.

Resolution
To resolve this problem, upgrade Cisco IOS Software to Release 12.2(17d)SXB11 or later.
