Multicast supported over Nexus 7k?

I am hearing that multicast is not supported over the Nexus switches like the 7k with vpcs? Is this true? Thanks for your comments or tips...

Hi @craneman1 

If by multicast over vpc, you mean multicast routing, then you should check this document:

You will see it's mentioned that

• For all Nexus platforms, a PIM adjacency over a vPC or a vPC orphan port is not supported. To form a supported PIM adjacency, you must have a Layer 3 connection from each Nexus switch to the relevant PIM router or form the PIM adjacency over a non-vPC VLAN.

However, you can have PIM adjacency over vPC Peer-link.

If on the other hand, you are refering to L2 multicast and/or IGMP snooping, then this one is supported. Thanks very helpfull and I think we might need to upgrade to version 8!
