Cisco 3064-PQ-10G-X - GLC-T is not operating on 1G Speed, rather on 100mb

Hi Cisco Family,

good day.

I have a nexus 3064pq-10g-x with the current software level on version 6.0(2)U6(7). I'm facing an issue that I plugged the GTC-T transceiver on the cisco nexus switch but it is not operating on 1G, ports are showing the status " down " and "sfpabsent" even when issuing the " show interface status " command.  Doing many things even, change the duplex but the result remains the same.

But it's operating on 100mb speed.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

This has capabilities to run 100/1g/10G, so it should work.

i can suggest some stesp :

1. remove SFP - default the interface config ( default interface ethx/x)

2. change the speed interface config ( speed 1000)

3. Insert the SFP

4. make sure your end device is capable of 1GB negotiation.

test and advise. - if this still now working

post below out put :

1. show interface ether x/x

2. show run interface ether x/x

3. show interface ether x/x trans

what is the end device you trying to connect?

Hi Balaji

Thanks for your response.

I already perform the mentioned exercise, but the issue was the same. meanwhile please have the output of the suggested commands;

One more thing I want to mention that, it's operating on 1g with server and SAN on the other end, but whenever I give the uplink to cisco catalyst 2960 it shows this behavior.
