I would like to upgrade our Cisco Nexus 3172T from 7.0(3)I2(2b)-->version 7.0(3)I7(6).

I will be following below procedure to do the same, kindly update me if I miss anything here.

Total Space Available in Cisco Nexus 3172T is Approx. 1.5GB

Free Space Available in Cisco Nexus 3172T is Approx. 900MB with Boot Image 7.0(3)I2(2b).

Image Size of 7.0(3)I7(6) is Approx. 950MB Plus Cisco Nexus 3172T required 650 MB free space while upgrading. So I can’t proceed in this direction.

There is method to compact existing loaded Image in Cisco Nexus 3172T as well as for new Image while copying.

but this compacting of image sizes is only allowed starting with Image nxos.7.0.3.I5.2.bin, so in my case which is not possible.

So, I have to first upgrade my Cisco Nexus 3172T from Version 7.0(3)I2(2b)-->version nxos.7.0.3.I5.2.bin which require only 135MB free space and then compact the existing booted Image nxos.7.0.3.I5.2.bin to make sure required space available and then copy image 7.0(3)I7(6) using compact method while copying.

Please advise....
