Cisco has decided to quit using Jive and instead use Lithium for our external communities. With effect from the 23rd of July 2018, Cisco Communities and Cisco Support Communities will be integrated to the new Cisco Community and be hosted on the Lithium platform. You find more information here.
On July 18th Jive will go into read-only mode and from the 23rd of July, all users trying to access Jive will be redirected to Lithium. There you will find NSO Developer Hub sorted under “For developers” in Technology and Support. Please save the new URL to NSO Developer Hub – Jive URL’s won’t be usable shortly after the 23rd of July.
During the last couple of weeks, we have worked closely with the central integration team to ensure we have a well-functioning Hub so that we can continue using the Hub as today. All content in this space will be migrated, complete with comments and likes. Content in our subspaces, NSO Training Material and NSO Software (both access restricted) will not be migrated but clearly linked to.
There are some distinguishing differences on the Lithium version:
- All communities have a pre-defined interface giving us few customization alternatives – our NSO Developer Hub will look very much alike other communities
- Content is separated on different “Boards”, e.g. a Blog board, a Documents board and so on, instead of being in a common content pool
- All content needs to be assigned at least one label, which can be seen as “super tags” (tags should continue being used as today)
These and other differences will be presented in our upcoming Power Hours. You are welcome to attend these to hear and watch us present the new Hub and to ask any questions you may have. All three Power hours will cover the same content.
