Hi expert,
My customer is using system installed NSO.
I have discovered two ncs.conf files in NSO.
/opt/ncs/ncs-x.x.x/etc/ncs/ncs.conf
/etc/ncs/ncs.conf
In my understanding system installed NSO is using /etc/ncs/ncs.conf.
And /opt/ncs/ncs-x.x.x/etc/ncs/ncs.conf is the configuration file which will be referred if user is doing local installation.
Is my understanding correct?
Any comment would be appreciated.
Kind regards,

In a system installation the path will be :
/opt/ncs/ncs.conf
The one in /etc/ncs is typically for local installations.

Yes, that's basically it - i.e. the /opt/ncs/ncs-x.x.x/etc/ncs/ncs.conf
file is not used in a system install - it could be removed by the installer but isn't, maybe it should be, to avoid confusion.
In general the system install follows the standard Linux/Unix conventions of how applications are installed - all configuration files are under /etc, all state and log files under /var, and so on.

No, that's not correct at least for a system install using the default directories, see my previous message. I guess you could theoretically pass '--config-dir /opt/ncs' to the installer, but that would be seriously confusing...
