power module for nexus 9300 series

Hi Team,

I have a query regarding power module in nexus switch 9300 series ,older version power module was 650w and the upgraded power module is 1200w,is this recommendable  to use the upgraded power module as per cisco standards, kindly help with this query.

depends on the model and it has support look at the below datasheet and it supported (high level on nexus 9300)

It depends on your model and the peak power consumption/maximum power associated with it. Based on that you can choose which power supply suits you best. If you share the model we can recommend of course.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing. Please see attached image. In your case, the switch typical amount of power consumption is 374.5W and the maximum power consumption is 694W which is the amount of power you must provision from the power source as input to the power supply and switch for peak conditions. Although 650W PS would be sufficient for regular switch work at some peak consumptions there might be performance degradation as well as some other issues. That being said we will recommend using the 1200W HVAC/HVDC just to stay on the safe side.
