The issue i have is with connectivity with the email server (pop and smtp) after applying opendns and problem goes away after disabling opendns on network.

Is there any solution to this?

Your category settings may contain the domains being used for your email server, for example Webmail, so you would need to whitelist the related domain names of your email servers.

If you need further help, I would need to know the domain names of the POP and SMTP servers.
