Must be missing something...

Hi,
I have a cable ISP. After getting OpenDNS configured; I see no difference than before. I have seen thread after thread with the same problem. The IP it shows it's using is the same as my ISP. Is that right? I run Linux Mint (not setup to run OpenDNS) setup on the same computer and again no difference as far as speed that's on the Windows side telling me there's no difference with, or without OpenDNS. It may be set up wrong, but I think I have done everything in order to get it
going, but I guess I haven't. Any suggestions?
Thanks

"no difference as far as speed"

Did someone tell you that changing your DNS service would increase your download/upload speed? Beat the idiot! There are many hoaxes around in the net, and this is just another.

No, the only party involved in your speed is your ISP, no one else in the world. This is probably what you missed. Changing the DNS service can increase DNS traffic speed, reliability and safety though.

OK... I really couldn't figure out why it would increase the speed, but as you say rumors are rampant.

Thanks
