Hi All,

I have a switch 3850 which has 1G SM SFP installed and the other switch is a cisco router which has 10G SM SFP.

I would like to know if I interconnect both the device with a SM fiber where switch has 1G SFP and router 10G SFP will it work?

thanks

Notice in the above, one matrix is for gig the other for 10g.

What can be a bit confusing, ports that support SPF+ can run a gig or 10g optic, but the other side must have a matching compatible optic.

No it won't work. The signalling and wavelengths used are incompatible.

Thanks for your reply.. Do you have any resource that  i can reference this to please
