C3048TP-1GE-sup fiber module

I am trying to use a GLC-LH-SM module in a c3048TP-1ge-sup switch. I cannot get the interface to come up. I can see in the logs that it sees when it is inserted and removed. The other side is also a GLC-LH-SM. I am able to get a link when connecting the fiber to other Cisco switches that are not 3048s, using the same module. The following says it is compatible:

I have tried seeting the speed to 1000 and negotiate to auto. Still does not come up. Any idea why it won't come up?

Is your 3048 recognizing the transceiver type?

Can you provide "sh int" and "sh run int __" for the interface in question with the transceiver n place?
