Compatible SFP Transceiver Type for Cisco Nexus 9k - Fiber to Ethernet SFP

I was wondering which "transceiver type" is the correct one for a SFP that will be going into a Cisco 9k.

Doing a "show version" this is our switch model.
cisco Nexus9000 C93180YC-FX Chassis

I tried this SFP in the link below but it did not work. When I plugged it into the switch and then the Ethernet into it and into my PC it shows the link as "Not connected"

I was wondering if this SFP below will work instead? It's transceiver type is "GLC-T"

Hello,

The GLC-T is End of Sale, you should look for the GLC-TE.

Hope this helps

@UT_games

You are a bit vague on what your requirements are, you would need to answer the following:

1) What distance is there between the sites, because you can get SFP in 10Km, 40Km and 80Km and other.

2) Are you using single mode/ multi-mode fibre

3) connector tye: LC/SC/ST.

Once the above is answered, then I will be able advise better.

Have you purchased that SFP from Cisco or some third party vendors. If you have purchased from Third party this will not show in the switch inventory. GLC-T and GLC-TE still it can work for connecting UTP Connections.

IF you want to connect fiber uplinks then you have to purchase below modules
1G modules
GLC-LH-SMD= Single mode
GLC-SX-MMD= Multi mode

10G modules
SFP-10G-LR= single mode
SFP-10G-SR= multi mode
