GLC-SX-MMD OM3 10gb Fiber laser optimized compatibility?

Hello,

We have at work 2 switches on the same floor different rooms connected with an OM3 Multi-mode 10Gb Laser optimized fiber strand. The link goes like this. 2960S > SFP GLC-SX-MMD > LC connector to SC patch-panel, > SC  patch-panel > LC Connector > SFP GLC-SX-MMD > 2960S.

The Cisco switch recognizes the SFP modules. But they are in down down not connected.

The laser does seem to appear all the way on the other side on the both sides.

And at the moment i am suspecting it could the Multi-mode cable between the servers rooms.

If more information is needed please let me know.

It required couple way to test and confirm  each stage.

check the modules are compatable with your model ?

1. Since you confirmed you can see the light, make sure the light go oppsite side when you connect to SFP.

2. What is the distance between these switches ?

3. can you post the configuration and capabilites of the port

also post show version of the both the switches

Have you tried flipping the transmit and receive on one of the fiber jumpers?

Did you try to flip the fiber connector ? do this is one side and check the laser on the fiber patch cord should be on opposite side from the sfp laser
thanks
