We 2 Catalyst 3560-X switches and bought 2 C3KX-NM-10G devices with 4 SFP-10G-SR-S modules and they ran OM3 fiber which was tested. Why won't the fiber connections come up? What am I missing?
We have:
Ran a no shutdown
Put the modules in slots 2 and 4
Verified the Hardware is compatible

Switch one end of the patch cord around.

Post the complete output to the following commands:
1. sh version;
2. sh interface status; and
3. sh inventory

Ok, I just saw that there is a limitation on OM3 fiber of 984 ft. Is there any way around that they tests they ran on the fiber are 1006 ft. I don't know how long the jumpers were they used but I am over by a few ft. Is there anyway around this other than cutting our about 10 ft on each side?

The distance is part degradation of signal and part loss of light power. The command I recommended will tell you your transmitted and received light power in dBm and let you know if that aspect is out of specification.
