You've got over subscription of the interface there , 2 much traffic going into the interface , cant handle it , its a hardware limitation
You could try QOS if not already in place

Hello Juliet,

I agree you have input errors of type overrun .

This means this device gi0/1 is receiving traffic with bursts that it cannot handle.

Typically this may happen on software based routers that can have gigaE interface that do not operate at line speed.

To minimize the problem, the device on the other side of the link should apply some type of output shaping to a sub rate of 1000 Mbps so that the other side can receive all the frames.

This kind of feature is available also on multilayer switch like C3560 that can set the output bandwidth to a percentage of line speed.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

What's the device?

As the others have noted, the receiving hardware cannot keep up with the actual input data stream. Does the interface's input queue also show drops?
