I am not experienced in fibre optics.
I wish to connect (single mode) fibre optic cable to Fibre optic switch ( DIN-rail mounted) directly without using patchl panel or patch cords.
I would also like to know what precautions should be taken during cable terminations. This is due to no or less space available for patch panels in my cabinet.
1. I have one scheme. Connect the fibre optic cable cores to SC type connectors (male). Use fibre optic switch which can have SC conector(female) ports. Now plug the connector to fibre optic switch port. Please confirm if it is possible. Please do mention advantages & disadvantages and recommended practices.
2. I have second possible scheme. The space available in my cabinet can accomodate patch panel of 200 mm height (DIN-rail mounted). Only one fibre optic cable will be terminated in that patch panel . Can anybody recommend me such patch panels ?
